DeBolex Engineering

DeBolex Engineering, in Tunbridge Wells, Kent came to life in 2012, with a series of Honda CB705 customs that highlighted the workshop’s unique style and exceptional attention to detail. However, its origins go way back.

Founder Calum Pryce-Tidd grew up around Vincents. His grandfather put more than 250,000 miles on a Vincent Rapide, keeping it running throughout his life as his primary transport. His father has owned one since he was 19. It’s the kind of upbringing that shapes how one thinks motorcycles should be built and feel like to ride.

The workshop’s, approach to building custom bikes is closer to coachbuilding than conventional customisation.

One-of-a-kind builds, each marked with a 1/1 emblem on the tail, start with a carefully chosen production motorcycle stripped right back to its fundamentals and rebuilt with performance and aesthetic enhancements. Aluminium tanks and body panels are hand-formed using traditional metal shaping techniques, working alongside modern precision engineering to bring the whole thing together.

Tens of these custom builds have gone to customers around the world since the workshop opened, every one of them unique, every one carrying the same resolved design language that makes a deBolex immediately recognisable.

deBolex’s design language focuses on proportion, cohesion and that elusive quality, where everything on the bike looks like it was always meant to be there. The workshop brings a factory finish to custom bike building.

It’s a process that was refined through building tens of one-off bikes. It eventually led to the creation of the dB25, deBolex’s limited series of twenty-five machines based on the Ducati Monster 1200, featuring over one hundred new custom components.

Rather than pure hand-forming, the process here involves fabricating body panels in aluminium and which are then used to create moulds for carbon fibre replication. It means each dB25 shares the same sharp, stand-out design while still being built and finished to individual customer specification.

The ordering process is genuinely collaborative, with the team guiding you through the options to arrive at something that feels personal without drifting from the workshop’s core aesthetic.
